Pet Health Conditions Treated at Del Mar

What You Can Do

If your pets are in need of urgent care or emergency pet care, bring them in to our hospital immediately. We can diagnose and start treatment right away. Please call us ahead of time so that we can be ready to treat your pets for whatever injuries they may have.

Conditions Treated

We treat a variety of conditions here at All Creatures Hospital, Inc. Poisoning, ingestion of a foreign object, fractured bones, getting hit by a car, serious laceration, and injuries from fighting with another animal are some of the more serious conditions we treat. These conditions may require urgent care or emergency pet care.

A pet that accidentally ingests something that is poisonous should be treated immediately. Signs of poisoning include vomiting, drooling, jaundice, coughing up blood, diarrhea, and unusual thirst, to name a few.

Ingesting a Foreign Object

Pets that ingest a foreign object need to be seen by a veterinarian immediately for treatment. Objects that are commonly ingested by pets include bones, socks, sticks, rocks, hair ties, balls, and chew toys. Please contact one of our veterinarians if your pet has ingested one of these or other objects.

Fractured Bones

Another condition in pets that needs immediate attention is broken bones. Broken bones can result from a pet getting hit by a car, falling or jumping, fighting with another animal, and slipping while running.

Hit by a Car

A pet that has been hit by a car may need urgent care or emergency pet care, depending on how serious the injuries are.

Lacerations can also send your pet into urgent care or the emergency room. Lacerations can be caused by an accident, rough play, or fighting with another animal. If there is blood or mucus coming out of the laceration, swelling and pus in the area, or your pet is lethargic, get him to our veterinary hospital immediately for treatment.

Injuries from Fighting

Your pet fighting with another animal can also send your pet to the emergency room. Eye injuries, bites from other animals, ear, and leg wounds often result from fighting between animals.
